At age 53, Doug Oliver had already lived for over a decade with Macular Degeneration, an incurable retinal disease that robbed him of his sight.
But in 2015, all that changed.
That’s when Doug received a pioneering stem cell therapy that restored his vision, allowing allowing him to once again see faces, read books, drive a car.It was an outcome so extraordinary that news about it spread around the globe.
His story soon made its way to Washington, DC, and it wasn’t long before lawmakers reached out to him asking for help in changing federal policy. This empowered Doug with an urgency to offer help crafting what became the 21st Century Cures Act, expanding access to regenerative care for millions.
Now, Doug and his team have founded Sanaregen™ Vision Therapeutics to turn hope to reality with cell therapies that effectively treat retinal disease.

Jeff carries a proven track record for administration, leadership, and finance. He has a distinguished career, holding positions such as Senior Financial Analyst for the Baptist Hospital System of Nashville, Senior Financial Officer for Medicare.com, and Co-Founder, President and CEO of IMAC Holdings, a company he took public in 2019.
Anthony Oliva, PhD
Chief Scientific Director
Anthony is a nationally-recognized leader in neurosciences, specializing in neurodegenerative diseases and aging. He has served as an assistant professor at the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine at Florida International University, and as a senior scientist at Longeveron, leading clinical programs in Alzheimer’s disease, Aging Frailty, and other indications.
Vidya Maharaj, MPH
Global Head for Clinical Operations
Vidya brings 12+ years of results-driven clinical operations experience in managing complex Phase I-III clinical trials across biotech, pharma, and government sectors. Skilled in trial startup, site management, CRO/vendor oversight, she is adept at budget management, and regulatory compliance (GCP, FDA, ICH).
